A Message from the Principal
“Wonder is the desire for knowledge.” – St. Thomas Aquinas
Dear Family and Friends of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School:
Our school exists to assist parents in the formation of their children as disciples of Jesus Christ through academic, spiritual, more social, and physical education to become responsible Christian citizens in our world. Operating on the covenant model of stewardship, our school, like all the other elementary schools in the Diocese of Jefferson City, is tuition-free for active members of the parish. We of course welcome families of other faiths who desire a Christian-based education for their families also.
Our school is built on a tradition of challenging academics, strong faith formation and living out the Gospel values that are expressed daily in the classrooms. There is great pride taken by all members of the school community in creating a very positive environment where adults and children learn and grow daily. Generations of parishioners have sacrificed to make Catholic education the premiere education in the community. Alumni of the school have spread out across the country and even around the world to take leadership roles, not just in corporate settings, but in many different aspects of their lives.
Our faculty and staff are some of the most skilled and dedicated educators around. It is rewarding to see their commitment to the Christian formation of young people through the education process. The staff continues to move forward with the use of increased technology for instruction and making sure that each aspect of the curriculum is taught at the proper level of mastery.
In co- and extra-curricular activities, students very positively represent Saints Peter and Paul School in a variety of ways that all contribute to a well-rounded person. The school is dedicated to the arts with opportunities for vocal music, band, drama, and the visual arts. Activities of an academic focus are spelling and geography bees, Academic Bowl, and speech meets. Athletic opportunities include football, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, and track. Each year the school hosts a large basketball tournament in partnership with Laura Speed Elliot Middle School.
Most importantly, our students continue to grow in their formation as disciples of Jesus Christ. Their growth is demonstrated by their participation in student-led Masses, their community service efforts, and personal testimonies in classroom assignments.
As always, thank you for your support and prayers. If you are not currently a member of our school family, please contact me personally for a tour and more information about our program.
In Christ,
Abby Martin
